Custom badges are yours to make under Customize → Badges: a label, an icon or picture, a colour. Up to twenty, all free.
Awarded badges — staff, verified, donor, early supporter and the like — are given by the team and cannot be made. They look different from custom ones on purpose, so nothing you make can pass for verification.
