Cookie Policy

Short version: two cookies, both ours, neither of them watching you.

What is set

Set when you sign in, and only then. It is what being signed in *is* — the

dashboard cannot tell who you are without it. Signed, HTTP-only so no script on

the page can read it, and it expires after about seven days of not being used.

Signing out deletes it.

Set when you close the notice at the bottom of the screen, so it does not come

back on every page. It holds the single character `1` and lasts a year. That

is the whole of it.

No advertising cookies. No analytics cookies or scripts — there is no Google

Analytics, no Plausible, no Vercel Analytics and no tag manager on any page of

this site. A page's owner does see counts of its views and link clicks, but

those are tallied on our server without any cookie; the privacy policy says

exactly what they hold. No cookie that follows you to another site, and none

that is shared with anybody.

Some settings are kept in your own browser's storage rather than in a cookie —

whether you dismissed a warning, which tab you had open. That never leaves your

browser and is not sent with any request.

If a page you visit here embeds something — a Spotify player, a YouTube video, a

widget pulling from another service — that service is loaded by your browser and

can set its own cookies under its own rules. That is between you and them; we do

not receive them and cannot read them.

The same is true of the sign-in flows: going to Discord, Steam or GitHub to

prove an account puts you on their site for a moment, under their policy.

Because there would be nothing behind the buttons. Both cookies above are

strictly necessary — one keeps you signed in, the other remembers that you

closed a notice — and a banner that sets the same things whichever button you

press is theatre. If this site ever adds a cookie that is not necessary, it will

ask first, and that will be a real question.

Every browser can block or delete cookies, per site, in its own settings.

Blocking them here costs you nothing except the ability to stay signed in — the

public pages work exactly the same.
